How is my profit calculated?
Net profit is your selling price minus what you paid, minus shipping you cover, minus the platform fee (a percentage of your selling price). This gives your real take-home profit, not just the gap between cost and price.
What platform fees should I use for eBay, Etsy, or Amazon?
Rough starting points are eBay around 13%, Etsy around 6.5%, and Amazon around 15%, but exact rates vary by category and seller plan. Check your marketplace's current fee schedule and use the slider above to match it precisely.
Does this work for stock or crypto trading profit too?
No. This is built for reselling physical items, accounting for platform fees and shipping. Trading profit and loss works differently and isn't covered by this calculator.
What's the best way to increase profit on items you resell?
Lowering your cost per item (buying in bulk or off-season) usually moves the needle more than raising price, since a higher price can hurt sell-through. Bundling shipping costs into your price instead of charging separately can also improve perceived value without cutting your margin.
